Melodic Improvisation in Country Music

This class will deal with the nuts & bolts of playing an instrumental lead in a country song.  Some call them "solos," but I don't buy it; the whole band is still playing!  We'll learn how to break apart the vocal melody to its basic building blocks, and then interpret them in a tasteful and interesting manner.

This is an intermediate class, please be able to at least pick out a melody on your instrument.  Knowledge of scales, arpeggios and basic chords will also be helpful, but not necessary.

Open to various instruments, in fact, some diversity would be welcome as different instruments have different ways to interpret melodies.  If you're looking to play something beyond the "normal" lead instruments in country music (guitar, fiddle, piano, steel guitar), please let me know ahead of time!
